ITS CLUB SCRUB TIME!!!
Jun 07, 2022
June means it is time for the annual BTTC Club Scrub. The tradition began more than 15 years ago when Matt I. proposed the idea based upon what he had done at his old club in San Francisco. The event has become an invaluable part of creating the best environment for our members and our staff to live happier and healthier lives. NOTE: Club Closed June 20 & 21 So…what goes on??? For two days (this year, June 20th and 21st) all BTTC staff—the managers, MAGS, fitness and tennis staff—all are at the club for two completely full days. In addition, we have contractors help us with some specific tasks (electrical, carpet cleaning, etc). All of us tear the place apart, moving furniture, equipment to access all those places that need detailed attention.
The process includes · Cleaning all 5 courts with a wet scrubber (Cooper is “Captain Scrubber”) · Steam cleaning of all the carpets · Mopping and scrubbing all the non-carpet floors · Painting and repairing walls · Cleaning every piece of equipment (yup—even the fans) · Sorting out “old stuff” (and disposing of it when Robin is not looking) · Repairing and replacing tennis and fitness equipment · Updating filing and archiving files (Doug’s favorite!) · Whatever else is needed.
But that is not the only purpose. It is also a time for staff to build community. We all spend lots of time at the Club and usually running around with the daily jobs. Club Scrub gives all staff the ability to do different activities with staff they don’t normally interact with. We have lunch brought in both days and provide “happy hour” at the end of the first day. All this provides a wonderful environment for BTTC folks to get to know each other better and build our team community.
The combination of improving the facility and staff community really maintains all of our pride in the Club. So thanks for the patience as we are closed.
We hope you appreciate the Club even more after this years Club Scrub.
~Doug So when we re-open on the 22nd, the entire Club will be sparkling clean and everything in tip-top shape. |
